Aprilia has revived its SXR GT maxi-style scooter lineup in India with the SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175. The updated scooters retain the familiar SXR design while gaining larger 14-inch wheels at both ends and revised equipment.

The SXR GT 125 is priced at ₹1.11 lakh, while the SXR GT 175 costs ₹1.31 lakh, with both prices quoted ex-showroom Delhi. The new models are positioned as practical maxi-style scooters, with the 175cc version adding more equipment and safety features.

14-Inch Wheels Are the Major Update

The biggest mechanical change to the revived SXR GT range is the move to 14-inch wheels at both ends. The larger wheel setup is intended to improve stability and ride characteristics while retaining the scooter’s maxi-style proportions.

The updated scooters continue with the spacious SXR body design, giving them a larger road presence than conventional 125cc scooters.

125cc and 175cc Engine Options

The SXR GT 125 uses a 124.5cc single-cylinder engine producing 10.61 bhp at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The larger SXR GT 175 gets a 174.7cc single-cylinder engine developing 13.27 bhp at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Both engines are paired with automatic transmissions and comply with BS6 OBD-II Stage B requirements. They are also compatible with E20 fuel.

Despite their different engine capacities, both versions use air-cooled engines.

SXR GT 175 Gets More Equipment

The ₹20,000 premium for the SXR GT 175 brings additional technology and safety equipment.

The top variant gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It also features single-channel ABS and a new muffler with integrated heat protection.

By comparison, another recent market addition paired high-end navigation with a 5-inch screen for a ₹2,000 markup over the entry-level trim. The 125cc SXR GT relies on a 5-inch monochrome LCD and a Combi Brake System.

Both scooters feature Aprilia’s distinctive three-element LED headlamp design. Braking hardware includes a 220mm front disc and a 140mm rear drum.
